July 2010 Mailing

We just mailed out a letter to patients that we might not have seen in the past 2 years. In that letter we made a special offer for those patients and we will honor that for others as well but there are a couple of important things to note about the offer. Also, the offer ends September 3, 2010. No rainchecks.

The offer applies to self-paying patients only. No insurance or any other offers apply.

For the single vision glasses....

  • Your exam must be at our office. No outside prescriptions.
  • The frames are first come first serve. The selection is very interesting. We're not giving away expensive frames! But you might find a pair that works. There are children's frames too.
  • The frames and lenses will not be warranted but we will make sure when you receive them that they work like they should before you leave.
  • Only one pair per patient.
  • You may have these tinted to make them sunglasses for a little extra.
  • The glasses and prescription lenses may not be ideal for a high prescription or high astigmatism.
  • Frames that require grooved lenses or drilled lenses are extra (the lab charges us extra)
  • We will not be able to use patient's own frames.

For the contact lenses....

  • Your exam must be in our office.
  • The fee for an exam and contact lenses must be paid at the time of the exam. Patients with astigmatism will be slightly more.
  • Only single vision lenses and they are the soft lenses that are monthly disposable.
  • You get 12 contact lenses total, that's 6 for each eye and makes that a 6 month supply. We'll give you a trial lens to test them though.
  • Other lens brands are standard costs.

Why do this? We have extra frames and we have some extra time in our schedule. We'd be happy to do this. But please remember that "it is what it is." Meaning, you can get something for free but if your heart is set on something else we hope you can at least get a free pair of glasses and then buy whatever else makes you happy.

And previous patients.....

  • All the above applies for the glasses and the cost is $49. Your exam must be less than 2 years old. No contact lens offers.

We reserve the right to make changes to this at anytime.

Here are some possible extra fees involved....

drilled or rimless mounting $25

tinting $10

children's lenses (poly) $10

glasses case $4

toric/astigmatism extra $25

And for anyone wondering what the strange image is next to their address on the envelope....that is called a QR code. If you have a smartphone with a camera and an app that reads QR codes, try it out. The code will send your smartphone browser to our website. We're also on foursquare.com so check-in when you get here. There will be an offer there sometime in the near future. We're debating a facebook site but not sure yet about that.
